Smart water at island scale

Municipal Water Supply and Sewerage Company of Kos (DEYAK)

Managing seasonal water demand

IANIC supports the digital management of water services in Kos, an island of 35,000+ permanent residents that welcomes more than 1 million tourists each year, especially in the summer. With such significant seasonal variation in demand, managing water resources requires continuous visibility across the network and efficient use of available resources.

Through SmartVille, IANIC brings together data from more than 22,000 smart water meters, alongside 63 SCADA stations, providing the utility with a unified view of water consumption and network operations. The solution supports continuous monitoring of demand and network conditions, helping the utility manage water resources more effectively across the island.

The solutions

The integrated applications, modules and services supporting daily operations.

The central platform that brings together data from smart meters, sensors, SCADA systems and connected infrastructure, providing a unified operational view of the water network. Built on IANIC’s own Big Data infrastructure, it enables advanced analytics, real-time KPIs, alerts and forecasting across the collected data.

It provides citizens with direct access to their water consumption, usage insights, bills, alerts and service information through a dedicated web and mobile application.

It manages meter reading data across smart and legacy meters, supports custom drive-by reading processes and monitors the communication infrastructure supporting connected meter reading operations, with visibility into gateways, repeaters, connectivity and network coverage

It provides a digital representation of the water network, including pipes, assets and infrastructure, supporting network visualisation, asset management and network design.

It supports hydraulic modelling and analysis of the water distribution network, helping utilities assess network behaviour in various conditions and support planning and operational decisions.

It supports the planning, assignment and tracking of water meter installation and inspection activities, providing field teams with the information and tools needed to manage meter-related work efficiently and maintain accurate records of field activities.

It supports the monitoring and analysis of water volumes across the network, helping identify differences between supplied and consumed water, calculate and monitor Non-Revenue Water (NRW) and assess potential physical and commercial losses.

It provides a centralised view of network infrastructure, stations and connected devices, supporting the monitoring and control of pressure, water supply, water quality and other operational parameters.

An integrated business software solution for managing the administrative, commercial, financial and operational processes of water service organisations.

It supports the optimisation of pumping operations, helping water service organisations improve energy efficiency while maintaining reliable network performance.
